What is your current role and where do you work right now? I’m a Software Engineer at PowerChord, Inc.
What were you doing before you decided to become a developer? Carpenter Craftsman of 6 years
What's your go-to fun fact about yourself? You can find me at your nearest Dungeons and Dragons table!
Tell us about your favorite memory during your cohort? My favorite memory would have to be a mixture of studying and spending downtime with the close group of friends I met while in my cohort, who I am still friends with now.
When you put your computer away, what do you like to do? Read – I enjoy a good fantasy novel.
Are you working on any side projects right now? If not, what would you like to work on? Currently, I don’t have any personal side projects. I have a main nine-to-five job, and I have a side project for another consultancy that I am working on.
If I did have a personal project, I’d probably focus on some courses to broaden my understanding of our vast field. Perhaps something I don’t normally work in like UI/UX or a CS Algorithms refresher.
Are you involved in any community groups? If so, which ones? I’ve volunteered at Suncoast Developers Guild as a mentor and event standee. As far as more community groups go, I’m active in a few Slacks, namely the Suncoast Developers Guild and local Gofer Slacks.
What advice would you give to anyone considering going through our program? Just make that leap! Keep going when you think you’ve hit a brick wall – that’s your brain expanding.
