What’s really promising about the new evening classes is how it allows us to increase our accessibility by offering a flexible alternative schedule to those who are currently unable to commit 12 full weeks to our primary Immersive program. As Jason Perry, CEO and Founder of SDG added, “By extending our program to allow part-time and after-hours classes, we can enable more students to begin their journey in coding without having to leave their current jobs.”

For those looking to make a change in their career, the challenge of training for a new industry can be rather daunting. For many, a career in technology is a viable solution for entering an ever-evolving field that offers endless possibilities. Suncoast Developers Guild is devoted to preparing those who wish to make this transition by structuring a more flexible schedule that students can work with.

Despite the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the industry remains resilient and is fortunate that major tech companies and startups are still seeking highly skilled coding professionals. Another good-to-know fact is according to a survey by Indeed, 84% of companies agreed that boot camp graduates are just as likely to be top performers and are just as prepared to succeed, if not more so, than their counterparts with a college degree. The Night Shift offers a flexible part-time route to a new career that can be accomplished in under nine months.

Another key factor worth noting is that SDG emerged in Tampa Bay as the leading hub for tech education and community engagement in 2015. As Florida’s only non-profit immersive code school, the Academy at SDG launched in 2018 to provide students with the leading-edge technical and soft skills they need to pursue rewarding careers as programmers. With strong connections in the tech community, SDG is a good place to be for those who seek to network.

We are currently enrolling for both certificate programs. Our new Night Shift program will begin on December 8, 2020, and will last for 36 weeks. These new evening classes will be held two nights per week and delivered exclusively online. The next 12-week full-time Immersive course begins on January 4, 2021.

SDG recognizes that the lingering pandemic has touched everyone’s life in one way or another and we are here to help find solutions. We offer alternative financing options, as well as scholarships.
